Mega Thoughts
EXCELLENT performances from Yolanda Montell Fish, Marvin Sapp, Jekalyn Carr! Good job by Erica Campbell. They didn’t perform with her husband and her children, and I didn’t pay to see them at the Stellar Awards. The others, except for Jekalyn, were too casually dressed and didn’t look like they were coming to perform before a paying audience. Travis Green and Cortez took much too long, not to be headliners! Fred Hammond was a huge disappointment, with the first part of his performance being songs and hits by other artists. KeKe Wyatt, clearly not a gospel artist, delivered a terrible rendition of Patti Labelle’s “If Only You Knew.” Try Tribett, the headliner, had an inappropriate “dancing squad” doing “catch-ons” like a high school drill team, causing people to leave in droves. The rhythm section, especially the keyboard and the drums, was too loud, making it hard to hear Erica Campbell. The MC wasted time by having people from the audience sing and promoting her personal products for sale. The comedienne had a limited part to play. Overall, the program was TOO LONG!
